The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is an innovative mid-ranged priced smartphone that could make a great alternative to the flagship range. I’ve been using the device for more than a month now and for its price, it has a great display, good battery, it’s water resistant and it can capture great photos as it has a great line-up of cameras built-in. For those not wanting to spend a huge amount of money on a new smartphone, this smart phone is worth a look.
I first encountered Samsung when they launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 1 back in 2011, it was my first smart phone / phablet and everyone is amazed with it. I’m a fan of their camera and AMOLED screen and they popularized having stylus pen in smartphones, too.
Samsung Galaxy A54 5G features a decent 6.4-inch display, a modern design and is available in a variety of colors. You get 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB storage and memory cards are supported should you wish to expand the memory even further. A 5000mAh battery is built-in and the smartphone is IP67 water/dust-resistant rated.
As for the cameras, you get a 50MP f/1.8 (wide) with PDAF and OIS, 12MP f/2.2 (ultrawide), 5MP f/2.4 (macro) and a 32MP f/2.2 (wide) selfie camera. Various photo modes are built-in and you can capture up to 4K video quality.

There’s a 5,000mAh battery built-in which is good for the price point and it easily lasts a day before you need to reach for the charging cable. I was easily able to get more than a day’s worth of usage from the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G. I’m a moderate user and I only use my phones for social media and its camera and I don’t do games nowadays so I wasn’t I always end my days with more than 50% battery left. Your battery may vary depending on the usage, but you can expect a good battery life overall.

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G: Powerful Midrange Device
When it comes to the overall design, there’s nothing wrong with the Galaxy A54 5G, the Gorilla Glass front and back feels well made. You do get an IP67 water/dust resistant rating which is unusual at this price point and a wide variety of color options are available.
On the front is a 6.4-inch display which is sharp, bright and offers excellent color reproduction. There’s a small screen bezel and the front camera is cut out of the display. On the sides are the volume and power controls and on the bottom of the smartphone you find the USB-C port. Turn the smartphone over and three large camera lenses can be seen which do protrude quite a bit so the phone doesn’t sit flush when on a table.
The rear triple camera system lines up as a 50MP f/1.8 (wide), 12MP f/2.2 (ultrawide) and 5MP f/2.4 (macro) with the wide camera featuring Phase Detection Auto Focus and Optical Image Stabilisation. Selfies are captured with a 32MP f/2.2 camera positioned top-centre of the screen.
The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is impressive for its price and performance. You also get a water-resistance rating which you don’t always find on other mid-ranged smartphones. There’s a good line-up of cameras and most of the images it produced are great, the AI for its camera works well, too.
